'Three Point Molly' (use if table is hot) Goal: To have three numbers working for you at all times. Basic Gist: Pass Line Bet w/ 2X odds, 2 Come Line Bets w/ 2X odds – Max Loss $45. Make a Pass Line bet. Backup your Pass Line bet with single or double odds. Make a Come Line bet. Probably the most commonly used strategy on the tables is one known as the “three point Molly”. This particular craps strategy gets its name from the way you place your bets, because at any one time you should have 3 bets active on the table. Classic Regression. Wait for the dealer to announce the point. Place a $6 bet on the 6 and a $6 bet. These 3-point molly craps are like roulette games so once the player wins the table then it is very easy to pick up and they can change the flow of a game. Some people think having a skill is very important in molly craps but no skills are required because shooting the dice is not a big one the only thing the player need is maximum betting.
The 3-Point Molly Don’t Strategy is the opposite of it’s right side sister strategy. In the 3-Point Molly Don’t Strategy, you’re betting that a 7 rolls before the points your bets are on are rolled.
The advantages of using the 3-Point Molly Don’t Strategy include;
- It’s easy to learn and execute
- There are more ways to roll a 7 than any other number
- It offers ‘true’ odds bets which give you the best payouts
- Maximizing the odds behind the pass/come bets will lower the house edge, and
- Once your point is established, you’re playing on the same side as the casino, with the probabilities working in your favor.
This strategy works great on cold tables and choppy tables that are not seeing a lot of repeating numbers.
There are many players who have an aversion to playing the ‘don’t’ side of betting and some that believe it brings bad luck to the tables. Having one or two don’t strategies in your betting toolbox is critical to winning at the tables, so don’t let that stop you from using this, or another don’t strategy. (You just may not want to yell and high five when a 7 rolls and you win your bets.)
Here’s how the 3-Point Molly Don’t Strategy Works (Example $10 Table)
- Place a $10 Don’t Pass Line Bet on the Come Out Roll
- A 7 or 11 you lose $10, a 2 or 3 you win $10, a 12 is a push with no action taken
- Add 3X Odds behind your Don’t Pass Line Bet once a point is established
- Place a $10 Don’t Come Bet on the next roll
- A 7 or 11 you lose $10, a 2 or 3 you win $10, a 12 is a push with no action taken
- Otherwise, your Come Bet travels to the point rolled
- Add 3X Odds to your Come Bet
- Place another $10 Come Bet on the next roll
- A 7 or 11 you lose $10, a 2 or 3 you win $10, a 12 is a push with no action taken
- Otherwise, your Come Bet travels to the point rolled
- Add 3X Odds to your 2nd Come Bet
Now you just wait for a 7 to roll and when it does, you win even money on your Don’t Pass and Don’t Come Bets and you win true odds on your odds bets on each of the numbers.
If your Don’t Pass or one of your Don’t Come bets gets knocked off;
- Immediately stop establishing don’t bets
- Do not replace the don’t bet you just lost
- Leave the remaining bets on the table
- That’s the maximum you’ll risk on this roller
- When the dice get passed to the next roller, start the strategy again.
VARIATIONS
There are a number of variations that players use within this strategy based on available bankroll, risk tolerance and what current trend is being experienced at the table.
- Increase or decrease the amount of odds your placing behind your don’t bets
- Some casinos offer up to 100X odds
- Replace 1 to 3 bets before stopping your betting
- Take bets down after one or two hits, or
- Continue to replace bets until the shooter rolls a 7
Choose which version works best for you, but be wary of a hot shooter knocking off point after point. Most times you’re better off cutting your loses and waiting for the next shooter.
We already mentioned some of the advantages to this system above including; ease to execute, lower house advantage, and the casinos teaching this as a standard strategy to use at the tables.
Let’s look at some of the disadvantages of the 3-Point Molly Strategy
Best Craps Strategy 3 Point Molly
- Does not work well at all when the table gets hot or when there are a lot of numbers repeating on a choppy table.
- It’s recommended that you switch to another strategy when you see this trend
- Your biggest risk is on the Don’t Pass come out roll
- There are 8 ways to lose on the 7 & 11, and 3 ways to win on the 2 & 3
- Some hedge the Don’t Pass come out by laying a number or placing a few dollars on the 7 or 11
- You don’t need to hedge your Don’t Come bets for a 7 as your Don’t Pass + Odds ends up being the hedge for those bets – You can still lose on the 11
Craps Strategy 3 Point Molly
Other than hot tables or a repeating numbers trend, the downsides of this strategy are minimal and a version of this strategy should be included in your toolbox.
