Chinese Poker Strategy For Beginners. Chinese Poker is a poker variant played with between 2-4 players, each of whom is dealt 13 cards. Out of the 13 cards received, each player puts together three poker hands, which have five, five, and three cards respectively.

Chinese Poker Rules - Scoring Once all players have set their hand, the showdown occurs and all players put down their three hands face down in front of them. The Back Hand is placed closest to the center of the table followed by the Middle Hand and then the Front Hand. Learn OFC Poker Rules The open face Chinese poker rules aren’t different from the Chinese poker rules. These variations are very much similar. The basic rules to follow to stay disciplined in the game are: Before starting to play the game, make sure you agree on the point value. Follow the rule of playing in turns. Regarding scoring, it happens just like in regular Chinese Poker, with players winning one unit from their opponent(s) for each hand of theirs that they beat. The 1-6 method is generally used in Open-Face, meaning that only if you sweep and win all three hands, each player gives you an additional 3 units as an award.
The game is easily accessible for new players, who enjoy the fact that a maximum of four players can sit at a Chinese Poker table at one time. Also, because luck plays a big part in the outcome of the game, beginners also have a good degree of success over advanced players, therefore giving them a boost of confidence and increasing the enjoyment factor of the game.

Open-face is a lot like regular Chinese poker. The point is to finish the hand with three poker hands: two five-card hands and a three-card hand. The twist is, you don’t get to see all your cards at the beginning of the hand.
Each player gets five cards to start and has to set them to begin building their top, middle and bottom hands. Then everyone gets one card per turn to add to their hands. In Pineapple, each player gets three cards per turn, two of which are added to their hand and one discarded.
